Rattan Material, maintenance, cleaning & storing Material Rattan is the rascal of the jungle. Rattan belongs to the palm family. Rattan is a climbing plant, that grows over trees and other plants in the rainforest. There are about 600 species of rattan. Cane-line uses only the best and strongest for furniture production. Sustainable Rattan is an incredibly fast growing palm, which makes it a very sustainable material. The outer layer of the rattan plant is peeled off and used for weaving. The core of the rattan is used to make furniture, which due to its movement and flexibility enables it to create a unique and very comfortable design. Maintenance, cleaning & storing Rattan is only for indoor use. For cleaning and daily maintenance, use a wrung cloth. Once to twice yearly clean with white soap flakes and lukewarm water wiping off extra fluid with a dry cloth.
